Kids, don’t try this at home.
I recently made a purchase on Amazon for a used book. This is an email I received regarding that transaction:
Hi!
I mailed your item this past weekend, Fedex 2 day mail even though you requested standard shipping! So it should be there tomorrow (Tues.) Thanks for buying the Perl programming book!J
My response
J,
Thank you for the exceptional customer service!
However, since you’re shipping FedEx, it would have been nice to have provided a tracking number.
I will notify you the moment the book arrives. You are making me contemplate possible meanings the phrase, “It’s been a pleasure doing business with you”.
I’m imagining you as the following: a computer geek who believes in her work so much that she FedEx’s a book of knowledge to utilize the diminishing resource of time, providing the end user more of said resource to study and hopefully develop a worthwhile piece of software based on information in said book.
I’m considering asking you out for coffee provided 1) the conversation be the contents of the book or product development in the Perl programming language 2) the book be the centerpiece on the table.
LOL. Disregard any suspicious thoughts. This is simply my twisted way of saying “thank you” at 0400.
Thanx
ProfessorTom

And you honestly don’t know how you manage to alienate people?
hmmm, a bit testy aren’t we, perhaps more bran in the diet?
that is perhaps a little odd of a thank-you message. Especially the part about how you picture her.
You make me laugh
There were birds, in the trees, but I never heard them singing, no I never heard them at all, till there was you!
interesting twists…
couldnt just say thanks in return could ya?
oh hell no. I had to do something more…lively
…stalkerish
Ass.
Visit my revamped site on xanga – I’ve got it almost looking like lj!
Hi. Thanks. No, I’m afraid I don’t know anyone by the name of Kate with that xanga. Although it sounds familar. I think I’ve seen it on one of my friends’ xangas but I don’t know whoever it is personally. Thanks for the comment!
Thanks once again for your comments, they are much appreciated. I agree with what you’re saying, it’s just hard to get to the point where you’re comfortable with idea of change, I supose. I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to talk on msn the other day, you happened to sign in at the exact time I was turning the computer over to my little brother…lol. Till next time then.
