I’m confused… whats new right? Alright now that we’ve gotten your mouthy-ness out of the way…
What is this site exactly??
Yes I went to it, but it didn’t make any sense to me.
i’m w/ blondie^
Hm, I’m not sure what made me think of you – but something did. And I realized that I hadn’t read your xanga in ages. ^_^ Mayhap you will explain your comment about your life a little more? Oh, and are you on facebook?
Hi – Thank you for the clarification… and not becoming angry with me for asking.
I don’t do it very often, but… I need one so blah if you dont want one.
*gives you a brief hug*
*flops on your futon to talk to you*
I’m debating whether to call you or not, but I haven’t because your aol isn’t on, so I thought maybe you were at a movie or something.
It’s been a long day… I realize that eventually I’ll be used to this, but right now I’m just tired.
I think you know all of this, but maybe not… even if you do, it wont hurt you and if you don’t – you’ll be aware of it now.
Had to work 8 hours in the ER today. Argh. I thought yesterday was busy… I was corrected. It seems that Echoe (e-ko) gave me Friday because she was going to allow that to prepare me for the onslaught of patients on Saturday!
I know I’ll forget some of the patients and stuff, but I need to write this down, both to talk about it, and to formulate a way to pass along how my clinical’s went to that bitch I had for a teacher.
K – I ended up going in around 7 and didn’t go home till 3, and in that 8 hour stretch I had these, and some other patients and the ones that bothered me, or maybe more specifically the ones that are memorable for some reason?… I’m going to highlight somehow.
I got there there was a patient in bed 3 and bed 4, don’t know anything about them other then they were there. *shrug*
Shortly there after the ones I worked on came in, along with Doc Robertson informing me that I should follow him everywhere and that unless I’ve been given orders by a nurse to do somthing, orders by him or something, I am not to leave his side. I teased him “everywhere?! *shocked look*” He poked me and said he didn’t mean THERE *laugh*.
1. A woman who said she fell 3 ft to the ground, twisted her knee. Doc gave her a brace and a sugar pill and went her home. It was stupid. She took the pill and instantly said “I’m better” and walked out of the ER with her brace, happy as a lark. Doc rolled his eyes and said she needed the academy award for her performance.
2. Man and his son came in, man having possible stroke. Everyone instantly went into action. Was not having stroke, had had had mini stroke in the night. Was moved to CCU.
3. Woman and her son came in. Son has strange rash, mom is scared. We put her and son in the back room, door shut, mom won’t stay in room, always under foot, annoys everyone on the floor, head nurse tells her to go to her room. Mom doesn’t. She goes out of sight of the nurses station though. So that when we go to find her, we can’t. It’s annoying.
It was eventually deduced that the child had a bad case of malnutrition and some minor physical abuse. Head nurse and Doc made up a reason to keep the child in the hospital, and sent mom home. Child will be sent to child services. *frown* I don’t like that. This one… really really got to me because babies NEED that fat for their brains to form correctly… and I can’t understand how a mother can just “not feed” her baby!! This baby was so skinny… Tomas I promise you I have never seen something like that before…
4. Man came in, chest pains, shortness of breath. Was diagnosed as the beginnings of a myocardial infarction (a blood clot which reaches the heart and causes Angina.) Was sent to Bronson in K-zoo.
5. This one didn’t bother me at all. A Mexican with his left forearm wrapped up and bloody, put him in the far room, doesn’t speak english, sister/mother barely speaks english… Really was wishing I took Spanish 101 like I was told.
We open it up and this guy has got a laceration from one side of his forearm to the other, up near the elbow, it’s about 5cm deep and about 7 inches long. There also is what looks to be a hesitation mark slightly offset to where the actual laceration is. My first thought was possible suicide?? But he told us, in his broken english and what light spanish I know that he was making a margarita and needed a lime, and slipped, cutting himself. Hmm… mighty big cut for being from the slip of a knife… especially since there were 4 other scars… attesting to previous cuttings. Doc put 5 stitches into the dermis and then 11 into the epidermis of the big wound, then 5 into the epidermis of the small one. with a total of 21 (just in case you can’t count. *grin*) Doc had me assist him with that, cutting threads, helping him get the supplies around etc… it was really kool.
6.Woman came in unable to sit down. Unsure why because I left.
7. Drunken woman comes in, can’t eat or drink, very upset to her stomach, does some blood work, comes back positive for a blood alcohol level of .034 or something out ragious (sp?) like that in which only a drunk could put up with that much alcohol in his or her system. Doc let her know that this wasn’t wise, coming to the hospital being legally drunk…
Ah flip I forget them all. I touched on most of them though.
Meh I know you probably won’t be happy I used you to vent on, but it did help. Please don’t be angry… you yelling at me is probably the last thing I could take before I broke down today. I’m not really “OK”. Tired… and the other stresses, plus the ER stuff… yeah I’ve deffinately been better!!
Your profile pic lured me. I love that cat! I don’t, however like seeing my cat with that expression! Sorry I didn’t comment the first time around… I was in a mood : )
