Schedule
As I become more and more of an old man, I find that life gets in the way of blogging. I figured that I would “go black” as soon as the new year hit, but I also thought that we would be busier than what we have been. It has been busy, don’t get me wrong, but as I author this post, there is a strange calmness. Perhaps the chaos will begin within an hour.I have several full-length columns I have wanted to author for quite some time. Hopefully I can finally find some time to get started on that tonight and produce something before I go into work in the morning.
In lieu of more of my world-famous columns (I haven’t had time to port them over to Xanga), I offer you my schedule for the next few weekends.
This weekend I will venture to the theater to see Defiance
Next weekend Dark Knight re-releases. I plan to go back up to Nashville to see the Dark Knight on a flat IMAX once again as a pleb. I assume the next viewing of that film in IMAX will be when I have the power to control what plays in my own personal IMAX theater.The weekend of the 30th, Taken finally debuts here in the States. (Click Here for great discussion of this film from firstshowing.net.Also on my entertainment radar is Robin William’s stand up tour. (As far as I know there’s no official name for this tour yet.) Robin will be in Birmingham, AL on Saturday, March 21 @ 2000. You can even purchase a VIP package that includes a meet and greet. Seats are $65 or $87 regular, VIP Meet and Greet $437.50I’ve considered doing the Meet and Greet (price aside) but I think that’s a cheap way to meet someone. I think a better way to meet a celebrity is to bump into them at a charity event or at the ballpark or something.
Anyway, I’ve thought about what I would say to Mr. Williams were I afforded the opportunity to meet him. I think I’d thank him for intelligently representing his political viewpoints in such a manner that, even though I disagree with him, I was able to laugh at the absurdities he pointed out in the interview with Charlie Rose during the press junket for One Hour Photo. Or maybe just simplify that to “Thanks for the laughs over the years.”
But this morning while I was composing this post in my head whilst getting ready for work, I considered inviting him back to Birmingham for the 11th Annual Sidewalk Motion Picture Festival.
NOTE: Posters are links to trailers with the exception of The Dark Knight

You should definitely invite him to the film festival! You never know, he might say yes. Make sure to get the name of his agent or publicist so you can send an official paper invite, though.

I like the way you think.
Why so serious?
@ehowton -
You wanna know how I got these scars?
“Thanks for the laughs over the years.” would be the best compliment that you could give a comedian.
@seedsower -
That’s what ehowton told me.
Thanks for stopping by.
