Obama Says Becoming A Dictator Is Very Tempting As La Raza Crowd Cheers
President Obama, speaking to the Council of La Raza, has admitted that it is very tempting to do things on his own and bypass Congress. This outright scary remark has received little attention in the corporate controlled media.

Of course it’s tempting. Absolute power corrupts absolutely!
Yea, it’s tempting for me too.
I’m sure its tempting since no one can act like adults and compromise even if it’s just for a short period of time.
@firetyger - The 14th-Amendment solution is tempting because:
(i) It’s not clear that it doesn’t grant Presidential powers regarding the national debt. If it’s in the Constitution, it’s in the Constitution.
(ii) The personal political consequences of evoking budgetary Presidential power may be worth averting a possible domestic and international economic collapse.
@i_am_not_short - Yeah. If only House Republicans were willing to pay for the budget they themselves negotiated and voted on.
@Celestial_Teapot - It’s Congress that sets the budget, not the President. If the President were to go it alone, he would have superseded his Constitutional powers.
@ProfessorTom - As the Constitution originally stated in 1787, sure.
But along the way, we’ve added little things called Constitutional Amendments. You know, like the Bill of Rights? After the Civil War, in 1868, the country ratified the Civil Rights Amendments– the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments.
Important rights are enshrined and important powers are clarified or expanded in the Amendments.
Quite effective info, thanks so much for the post.
